Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Riem.ai website and platform (the "Service") operated by Riem.ai ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Permitted Use

The Service is provided for lawful recruiting and talent sourcing purposes. You agree to use the Service only for these intended purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including employment, privacy, and anti-discrimination laws.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service beyond what is provided through normal use
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or data obtained through it
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use candidate information obtained through the Service for harassment, stalking, or discrimination
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting candidates
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, billing, or access controls
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

When using candidate information obtained through the Service, you must comply with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other applicable laws. Use contact information only for legitimate recruiting outreach. Respect candidates' opt-out requests.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Plans and Pricing

The Service offers paid subscription plans with varying search allowances and features. Current pricing is displayed on our website. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

4.2 Enrichment Charges

Candidate enrichments are billed at $5 per enrichment as an additional charge on top of your subscription. Enrichment charges are added to your monthly invoice and billed at the end of each billing cycle.

4.3 Credits and Usage

Search queries consume credits according to your plan. Searches that return zero results do not consume a credit. Cached results do not consume a credit. Frontend-only filtering (sorting, reordering) does not consume a credit. Refinements that require a new data query consume a credit.

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months. Enrichment charges incurred before cancellation remain due.

4.5 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

5. Data and Content

5.1 Your Data

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (such as search queries and conversation history). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely to provide the Service to you.

5.2 Search Results and Candidate Data

Search results are derived from publicly available data and are provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any candidate information. You are responsible for verifying candidate information before relying on it.

5.3 AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to generate candidate summaries, outreach emails, and other content. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before using it, particularly outreach emails sent to candidates.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, algorithms, and scoring methodology, is owned by Riem.ai and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY CANDIDATE INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RIEM.AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riem.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
